Chapter Philanthropy & Service
In addition to national partners, collegiate chapters also support local causes through philanthropic fundraising and hands-on service on their campuses and in their local communities.
Alpha Gamma is extremely devoted to community outreach and service. We pair with our national service project, Habitat for Humanity, in order to build homes for families in our local communities. For our national philanthropy, Pine Mountain Settlement School, we send a monetary donation that we collect through our Pennies for Pine Mountain fundraiser each semester.
This semester we are gathering non-perishable foods to donate to the local elementary schools' backpack program. This program gives food in backpacks to children in the community to eat over the weekend. Many students have little to no food to eat whenever they leave school. We are also raising money to donate to the backpack program to help fund whatever need may arise.
The sisters of the Alpha Gamma chapter also participate with the Special Olympics in Bryant, Arkansas. We act as guides, cheerleaders, and support for the athletes competing in the various games.
Overall, Alpha Gamma holds philanthropic service as an important ideal for Alpha Sigma Tau women.
